Welcome:

Rosman High School is located in the western part of Transylvania County, NC.  The school is composed of 375 students and 32 staff members.  The school is rich in history and is the epicenter for the town of Rosman, NC.  The school’s culture reflects the shared ideas, assumptions, values, and beliefs that give an organization its identity and standard for expected behaviors.  Transylvania County’s strategic plan and implementation of goals is a model for several counties within North Carolina.  The tiers within the county school system provide sound communication and effective development of school based goals through the school improvement team, stakeholder satisfaction survey, CARE team, and steering committees.

The small size of Rosman High School requires staff members to communicate within the educational environment efficiently and effectively due to demands placed on a limited staff.  The collegiality is almost always positive and reflects that of a family.  It is my opinion that smaller schools provide more opportunities for interactions between students and teachers. Students are less likely to be overlooked and are more likely to be involved in activities. This allows efficacy for the staff, students, and other stakeholders.  The academic demands of the county are well received and several safety nets regarding testing are in place for students who have difficulties on the end of course tests.  With support from all stakeholders Rosman High School can achieve the recognition of a school of excellence.
